Satellite Teleport and SNG Unit
Making the best use of Jordan’s geographical location between Asia,
Africa and Europe, a number of earth stations for reception from Asian
and European satellites and for transmission to Arabsat, Nilesat, Eutelsat
and Asiasat are installed on Jordan Media City’s premises. |

The first uplink earth station, with a dish of 7.6m in diameter, is used
for Direct-To-Home (DTH) transmission on Arabsat in DBS band.
A second earth station with dish 7.6m for DTH transmission on Arabsat bader 4 in DBS Band (transmitting 5 streams, 55 channels).
A third uplink station for digital transmission on Arabsat Bader 6 C-Band.
A fourth earth station with dish 7.6m for DTH transmission on Arabsat Bader 6 in DBS Band (transmitting 2 streams, 22 channels).
A fifth earth station with dish 7.6m for DTH transmission on Nilesat 101 in DBC Band (transmitting 4 streams, 55 channels).
A sixth earth station with dish 7.6m for DTH transmission on Nilesat 102 in DBS Band (transmitting 1 stream, 14 channels).
A seventh earth station with dish for 7.6m for DTH transmission on Hotbird (transmitting 2 streams).
An eighth earth station with 9.6m diameter used for transmitting digital television channels on Asiasat
2 C-Band (transmitting 2 streams).
Currently Jordan Media City transmits and retransmits 150 channels
Future Outlook
As of 2006 Jordan Media City will be transmitting and retransmitting
Arabsat (4A) channels to cover the Arab world and part of Europe.
Negotiations with Nilesat, Eutelsat and Asiasat are currently underway,
as well as with domestic American satellite stations, to cover North and
South America.
