Mission
To become the leading media hub in the region, to be able to playout and
uplink television channels to cover the whole world, and to have state
of art studioes and production facilities.
Background
Jordan Media City is a private company founded as a result of an
agreement between the government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and
Dallah Production Company. It was set up with a capital of ten million
JDs (15 million US Dollars).
In October 2003, JMC awarded a multi-million US dollar contract to
supply equipment and software for the operation of sixty program
channels and eighty back-hauled channels, plus an archive system and
software applications to operate the system.
The state of art video servers provided an ideal platform for
transmission regardless of the format. All media was acquired and stored
on central storage, to be accessed by one or more users to supply
multiple services...
The installation centralized the Arab Radio and Television (ART)
transmission to the Arab world along with its archive system. As of
today Jordan Media City transmits 120 program channels.
Location
The Jordan Media City is centrally located next to Jordan Radio and
Television Station. It is a short distance from Queen Alia International
Airport, and just a few minutes away from Jordan's main highway which
connects the country's northern borders with its only port in Aqaba in
the south.
